A little incentive to do the dishes

ballband1.jpg

This has been one crazy summer! But in a desperate search for some sort of balance I found a little time to whip out some more dishcloths since my last post. I can't stop! I am in a just-one-more mentality and have been consistently putting off blog posts, "just until I finish this one." It's gone on too long!

Apart from ballband mania, I have been doing a lot of perusing and planning on Ravelry lately. I just want echo all of the comments out there that this is the best new thing on the internet these days. It makes research and planning so easy! I have a list of things I want to make, I am dreaming of the weather getting cool enough for wool (and hauling the big blanket out of my closet), and I am feeling optimistic about some empty spaces in my calendar for the fall. This week I ordered yarn for the first time since I went home LAST NOVEMBER. It has been a long dry spell, I suppose.

Well, I'm running out of Sugar 'n Creme so I am waiting for the doorbell to announce the postman and the latest delivery from my mom. Then it's back to the dishrags.

Brief note from a busy summer

A few weeks ago, I received an unexpected package full of wonderful goodies from Kathy at Pink Chalk Studio (check out her blog to see all the great things she has been whipping up lately). I was so pleasantly surprised, not only by the thought that she had put into the great things she made for me, but also that the fabric she used and the items she made were SO ME. I thought she had been talking to my mom about me or something, but it turns out that she just guessed what I would like and happened to be spot on. It has been more than a month since getting this fabulous loot and while I promised myself I would post about it as soon as I could take some nice pictures, I have given up on that and figured something is better than nothing! I had to dig the fun pouch and tissue holders out of my bag for the photoshoot.

With recent job changes giving me a lot more responsibilty at work, this note taker is just the right thing to keep all of my papers and notes organized. Look how the logo on my business card even coordinates so nicely with the fabrics! I have had a busy summer but taking this into my meetings and conferences will definitely make them more fun. Well, I hope. Thanks, Kathy!!
