Help, I need somebody!

I need help in more than one way, but today's appeal is to anyone who has Stitch 'n Bitch Nation.  I have been in a bit of a knitting slump lately, with not much time to knit and not much to look forward to after I finish my shawl.  But when I was browsing through the knitblog world the other day, I found the Lucky Clover Wrap Knit-along and decided that this sweater is JUST what I need to welcome spring.

In case I haven't mentioned it before, I live in the middle of nowhere.  Fancy knitting books like this and good quality yarn are hard to come by, but luckily my mom and dad are coming to visit me in *less than two weeks* so they can bring along a few necessary items from home.  The book is on its way, but it isn't in my mom's hands yet.  Since I have bombarded her with a long list of ridiculous requests, I thought I would try to exploit the kindness of knitbloggers outside of my family this time.

To owners of the book, would anyone be able to tell me how many skeins of Rowan 4-ply this sweater calls for (in a medium) and what needles I need?  The karmic rewards will be many.  Don't do it for me, do it for my poor mother (who will probably run out and get said yarn and needles because she is the best).  THANK YOU!!

Would love some of those karmic rewards BUT I am at work so I can't see the book. It's a beautiful pattern though...

From my internet searches and this knitters blog,
http://www.streetsandyos.com/archives/lucky_clover_sweater/index.php

She is using 9 skeins. of four ply....now to find you the needles.

According to the book in front of me, you will need:

10 balls Rowan 4-ply cotton
US 2 (2.5 mm) straight needles
US 3 (3 mm) straight needles
or equivalent for gauge of:

26 stitches/32 rows = 4" clover leaf lace.

You also need 2 yards 1" ribbon in a complementary colour.

Hope this helps...

Hey, did IK show up on your doorstep yet? I got Tendances last week, so it should be finding you soon!

Would you like to join the knitalong? I can put your name on the list :)

The designer of that pattern has her own blog. Check it out and ask her!

Melissa is her name

Good luck,

Hi! I live in Tokyo now, but used to live in the middle of nowhere in Japan like you! (I was in Kyushu). May I recommend Amazon Japan as a fantastic place to get books at the same prices as back home? Delivery is free and super fast. Happy knitting.
