Unexpected interruption to my regularly scheduled knitting
I have sustained a string of absolutely ridiculous injuries in my life, but I still don't want to admit that my latest elbow injury is probably knitting induced. I blame this:
Too much fun with Clapotis? I'm using an excellent red cotton/wool blend that I got in Japan and I think will be perfect for the end of winter and the beginning of spring. I knitted out of control for a few days and this is how far I got.
Four dropped stitch rows.
I'm itching to knit more on this but I know I should let my elbow heal up before I get the needles clicking again. I finally found a good use for those 2 kilos of mochi, or rice balls, that have been sitting in my freezer, some of them since October. No need to buy an ice pack!
This might be a sign that I need to teach myself continental knitting, but I don't really know how to go about doing it. The only good thing about the knitting hiatus is that my apartment is clean again and I have been going to bed early. Amazing what you can get accomplished when there is nothing waiting to be knitted.

lookin' good! i used a little how to knit booklet that showed be how to hold the yarn for the basics of knitting in both ways. and it helped tremendously with the arm pain. hope it helps for you too.

I worked on clappy for several weeks, put it down till now, and SERIOUSLY, we are at exactly the same place. Coincidence? I think NOT.

I'm knitting Clapotis, too - what a fun pattern, eh? Unfortunately, it's not doing good things to my hands, which are complaining after a three-day weekend full of knitting. I gotta take a day off, I think.

Wow Molly, we are in the same place with our Clapotis. I love the color you chose! I hope the elbow feels better soon - is it a race to the finish? I am busy with classes and such so I am moving at a slow pace. I am willing to give you some healing time...hehe :)

OK, I am giving in, your Clapotis is so pretty, I must make one, even though I currently live in Texas, where there is not much scarf-appropriate weather!

Love the clapotis - I had the same elbow pain when I was working full steam ahead on mine - then I had to frog it!!!!! Made a bad mistake and couldn't fing the beginning of it - decided to put that yarn aside for Klaralund and use something less slubby for the clapotis part deux - let me know if you figure out how to ease the elbows and feel better!
