Rest in Peace
My apartment is an absolute PIG STY but I had to get this vest onto my blog and out of my life before I can organize everything else.
I called it right back in August when I said that this cute-looking sweater vest might not be for me. It is definitely not. I finally seamed it up, but I look like some kind of deranged Nanook from the North, so I decided that this great yarn that I really liked knitting with will serve me better as a pair of mittens and a hat.
It makes sense that I could not get any clear photos of this blah vest, so here is a blurry one of me wearing the offender.
It might not look quite as ridiculous in the picture since my head is cut out. My face framed in the large collar is not a pretty site.
I think the hardest part of knitting is picking a pattern that is best for me. I did a great job MAKING this vest, but I failed way back in August when I picked the vest. Slowly but surely, I'm figuring out what suits me and what doesn't... so I am going to keep plugging along on my cable sweater (no, I haven't finished the sleeves yet, but I'm almost there) and keep my fingers crossed that it's right.

Did you try it with a long-sleeved turtleneck? Everything looks better with them!!

I have the SAME thing, Mollie. I make things, things I think I will like, and the knitting is good and they fit, but sometimes they just aren't me... Even though by 32 you would think I would know what to knit for myself. It happens still all the time.
When will we figure it out? ;-) Maybe we should ask someone's opinion before starting the project to see if they can visualize it on us. Hmmm...
